About
Ready for Work!
I'm from, and live in Dublin, Ireland.
If you are looking for experience in product development, user research, competitor analysis, or professional writing with a focus on the financial sector, I can help.
If you are a fintech startup, and need someone to fill multiple roles, I can help.
I spent the past decade with KX Systems, developing their kdb Visual Studio Code Extension, kdb Insights Enterprise, and KX Dashboards products.
KX Systems had previously acquired ActivateClients, a financial services company where I led community and design efforts to build a marketplace for investor trading strategies.
Prior to this, I spent time in the United States as an Assistant Researcher at the University of Hawaii Plant Pathology department, and the Illinois Natural History Survey, developing sustainable methods for the suppresion of insect and nematode pests using entomopathogenic nematodes.
I have a Ph.D in Nematology, and a B.A. (Mod) in Zoology. I have completed all three stages of the Chartered Market Technician program, and I am an Affiliate member of the Chartered Market Technicians Association.
I blog regularly about U.S. Markets; follow me at stocktwits.com.

Wildlife Monitoring
I volunteer as a surveyor of butterflies for the National Biodiversity Data Center, and partake in the annual Garden Bird Survey for Birdwatch Ireland.
Photography
I mostly focus on baseball and wildlife photos, but do try to make the most out of my camera. Preference is for my Nikon DSLR and the ever handy Samsung phone, but I will likely succumb to the mirrorless world one day.
Baseball
For kicks, I play for Red Rox Baseball club, one of the first baseball clubs in Ireland. I'm also the acting club Treasurer.
